The Evolution of 5D Imaging – Welcoming Dr Kim to the Dentistry Show

Digital dentistry continues to evolve rapidly, bringing new technologies that help clinicians visualise anatomy more clearly and plan treatment with greater precision. One of the most exciting developments in recent years is the emergence of 5D imaging, which combines multiple data sources into a single integrated workflow.

At this year’s The Dentistry Show, we are pleased to welcome Dr Jongcheol Kim, who will be delivering a talk on the evolution and potential of RAY 5D.

Over the past two decades, dental imaging has progressed from traditional 2D radiography to 3D CBCT imaging, allowing clinicians to better visualise anatomical structures. The next step in this journey is the integration of multiple datasets, including CBCT scans, intraoral scans, facial scans and jaw movement, into one comprehensive digital environment.

Technologies such as RAYFace enable clinicians to capture highly detailed facial data and combine it with internal imaging, creating a more complete picture of both function and aesthetics during treatment planning.

Dr Kim has played a key role in advancing these technologies, helping shape how digital imaging supports modern dental workflows. His presentation at the Dentistry Show will explore how 5D imaging has developed and how integrated digital systems are influencing the future of dentistry.

For the team at Imaging X-Ray Solutions, it is an exciting opportunity to hear directly from one of the innovators driving this digital transformation and to continue exploring how advanced imaging technologies can support dental professionals.
